Indian Army to buy 120 Kamikaze Drones, aerial targeting systems.

New Delhi: Officials said on Thursday that the Indian Army has begun the process of acquiring 120 loitering munitions and 10 aerial targeting systems to strengthen its military power along the border with China.
According to the officials, loitering weapons and aerial targeting systems are being purchased through a fast-track process under the "buy Indian" category. The officials stated that around November 14 will see the release of the initial RFP or call for proposals for the purchase, PTI reported.

Community seed bank initiative traces & restores heritage rice varieties in Tamil Nadu.

 C ommunity seed banks have been promoted by  identification of willing farmers based on location with assistance from local NGOs in 24 districts -- Ariyalur, Chengalpattu, Coimbatore, Dharmapuri, Dindugul, Erode, Kanchipuram, Karur, Madurai, Mayiladurai, Nagapattinam, Pudukottai, Ramanathapuram, Ranipettai, Salem, Sivagangai, Tenkasi, Thanjavur, Thoothukudi, Thiruvannamalai, Thiruvarur, Tiruchirappalli, Villupuram & Viruthunagar. A lead farmer cultivates one to many traditional varieties in his farm, a part of which when harvested is shared and distributed to other interested farmers in the neighboring localities and districts with or without payment.
