Delhi-Meerut RRTS project update: Rapid rail likely to clock 180 kmph inside tunnel!

New Delhi: The Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) has gradually started taking shape before its partial launch in 2024.
The 82-kilometer rapid rail is likely to smoothen commute by providing reliable, safe and high-speed service.
The two kilometer tunnel from Delhi's Anand Vihar to Vaishali Metro station has started to take shape. The work on the ramp for tunnel has been started.
It is said that the rapid rail would be able to speed at 180kmph inside the tunnel. However, the normal speed would be kept at 160kmph for regular operation.
The under construction tunnel is being given shape from Anand Vihar to Sahibabad. This tunnel will end at Vaishali metro station.
